On September 15, 2008 CLIR (Council on Library and Information  
Resources) and NEH (The National Endowment for the Humanities) co- 
sponsored a symposium on opportunities for information technology to  
enhance scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.

This month, CLIR has issued the final report on the meeting, which  
supplements these papers with an invaluable synthesizing overview by  
CLIR's Director of Programs, Amy Friedlander. The final report, along
